From January 17, 2025, Skive Museum became Skive Kunstmuseum. The museum reopened with an acclaimed exhibition of unseen works from internationally renowned artist Carl-Henning Pedersen.
On November 1, 2025, the permanent exhibition “Nature Collection” will reopen, featuring works exclusively from the museum’s own collection. The works will be thematically re-actualized with the theme “Art’s view of nature”, creating new connections across isms and time.
“Collection about Nature” showcases Skive Art Museum’s DNA – it is an image of the museum’s collection and communication strategy.
Every year, Skive Art Museum will open two special exhibitions. These will seek to capture trends in art history as well as the contemporary art scene. The exhibitions are all in one way or another related to Skive Art Museum’s collection. The exhibitions will be shown in “Marmorsalen” and “Tæppesalen”, and the rooms have already hosted the neo-realist artist Bjarke Regn Svendsen and landscape painters Allan Otte & Ulrik Møller.
In the “Atrium Room” and “KunstrumX” in the center of the museum, there will be ongoing projects of both artistic and museum art. In these spaces, Skive Art Museum has set out to show what goes on backstage by showcasing the process of registration.
