In the cultural agreement project Art & Culture Laboratory, the museum has invited actors from other cultural cooperation municipalities to work with the headline – Fabulous mythical creatures.
This sub-project will resonate with the Visual Arts Day on March 13th, when Skive Museum will be visited by the primary school at Hem school. This collaboration has been going on for a long time, with Skive Museum visiting Hem school with both art, culture and nature educators. The visual arts day at Skive Museum will thus be the end of their Fabulous Animals program.
During the day, they will make collage mythical creatures, and at the end of the day, the children will exhibit their works and perform for their parents with the mythical creature song, which the children have made together with Dea from the music school. The collaboration is between the museum’s communicators in art, culture and nature, Skive Music School, Skive Library and teachers from Hem School. Around the other municipalities, activities will also be in full swing on March 13, and everywhere there will be something creative going on.
Project manager at the Art and Culture Laboratory Anja Høegh says: “Thyborøn school is working with, for example, Geopark Vestjylland and Lemvig Music School. The Varde museums and Varde music and art school work together with nature guides and art teachers. So it will be a diverse universe that we will create. The starting point for our partners has been to collaborate with people you don’t normally work with and then we’ll see what happens. Even though right now only Hem School is working with us and the topic is local, we can already say that we will be working a lot more with Mythical Animals. Culture Week and the museum’s summer school will also be influenced by the theme.”
“Of course, we can always be contacted for a chat about a course with mythical creatures or perhaps something completely different based on the museum’s diverse professional universe. This project shows what happens when we work across disciplines. In addition to vacation activities and the like, we also have an art school, where a lot happens throughout the year and where there are opportunities to work creatively. So the possibilities are many and fun for both children and adults,” Anja Høegh continues. Read more about our art school here: https://www.en.skivekunstmuseum.dk/laering-paa-museet/billedskole/
Look forward to seeing even more fabulousness from the project!
