Pop-Up Day at Skive Museum

Pop-Up Day at Skive Museum

Friday, September 13 from 12-22

Skive Museum invites you to a special pop-up day, where visitors get a unique opportunity to experience the \”Øjeblikke\” exhibition in a whole new way. This day is packed with exciting activities aimed at both art lovers and those seeking an immersive cultural experience.

Guided tours with Slow Looking

Through two special guided tours we explore the \”Moments\” exhibition by Bjarke Regn Svendsen with a focus on Slow Looking. This concept encourages slow and in-depth viewing of the art, emphasizing the details and the personal experience of the works. The tours will be guided by the museum’s knowledgeable staff who will help participants get the most out of their experience.

“After the guided tours, we invite you to relax in the museum’s café area, where coffee and cake will be served. Here, participants can enjoy an informal get-together, exchange thoughts about the exhibition and make new acquaintances. There is a limited number of seats, so these events require registration”, says Project Manager Anja Høegh

Exclusive Performance: Skifa

The evening will be rounded off with a very special performance created especially for this occasion. The artist group, who have given themselves the name Skifa, will put on a unique outdoor performance that will be performed for this one time only. “If the weather doesn’t allow for an outdoor performance, we will move indoors so that no one misses this unique event. The event is free and is for everyone who wants an exciting and different experience with art and history in Skive,” says Anja Høegh. The project we are working on is about how we can create bridges between genres and, as here, the artistic expression and part of the local history that the artists have interpreted.

Presentation of the artists:

The team of artists consists of photo artist Britta Egebjerg, composer Nicky Bendix and art students Silas Høegh and Selma Elving from Funen Art Academy.

Selma is also a Krabbesholm student, so in a way she is returning home.

What is SKIFA – as if everything was dreaming.

The interdisciplinary work is inspired by the history, nature and culture of Skive. A special inspiration is drawn from the writings of city child Johanne Buchardt. Through free interpretation, a connection is created between the cultural-historical timeline of Skive and Johanne’s writing, senses of nature and mind. Between these are other pasts and futures in the form of characters that flow in and out of the narrative – as a comment, a touch, a pulsating encounter. Familiar. Unknown.

SKIFA is a living and sensuous work that in its expression (music, film and performance) utilizes and expands the dimensions of the narrative and entrances to the audience. Its multifaceted artistic form creates new languages, new spaces and connections; playful, serious, dramatic. Times, people and societies cross paths. They dive deep and gasp for breath, aiming high towards hope.

“This pop-up day at Skive Museum is a great opportunity to experience art in a different and intense way, and we look forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces,” concludes Anja Høegh.
